Tripura: In a significant development for NHPC Limited, a leading player in the power sector, the company has been formally granted four Pumped Storage Projects in the state of Tripura. This will be the first project in N E region. The allocation was confirmed following a constructive meeting led by Shri Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects) of NHPC, with the Minister of Power, Government of Tripura, Shri Abhishek Singh, IAS (Secretary, Power-Tripura)
Tripura Power Generation Limited officially communicated the allocation decision on December 20, 2023. NHPC Limited has been entrusted with the responsibility of undertaking detailed Survey and investigation Works at the Longtharai, Sunitipur, Shantipur, and Sakhan Pumped Storage Project (PSP) sites in the state. The allocation has been made by the Government of Tripura, and NHPC Limited is expected to carry out these activities and subsequently implement the projects based on their techno-commercial viability.
This move marks a strategic advancement for NHPC Limited as it solidifies its presence and involvement in the power infrastructure landscape, further contributing to the energy development goals of the region.
