Mohammad Afzal Leads 6th Steering Committee Meeting to Fast-Track Hydroelectric Projects in Arunachal Pradesh

N.E: Shri Mohammad Afzal, Joint Secretary (Hydro), Govt. of India, spearheaded the 6th Steering Committee Meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Residential Office in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, on September 3, 2024. The meeting was presided over by Shri Pema Khandu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Raj Kumar Chaudhary, Chairman & Managing Director, NHPC Limited.

The progress of 13 hydroelectric projects allotted to prominent CPSUs, such as NHPC Limited, NEEPCO Limited, SJVN Limited, and THDC Limited, was reviewed and monitored during the meeting. Critical issues hindering the projects’ progress were addressed, and collaborative solutions were devised to fast-track their completion. The meeting’s objective was to ensure the timely execution of these projects, which are crucial for Arunachal Pradesh’s economic growth and sustainable development.

The Government of Arunachal Pradesh’s unwavering support and cooperation were assured by Shri Pema Khandu, Hon’ble Chief Minister, to expedite the projects’ onset. This commitment is expected to galvanize the hydroelectric sector, driving innovation, employment, and eco-friendly energy solutions in the region.
