Khurja Super Thermal Power Project’s 660 MW Unit Dedicated to Nation by PM Shri Narendra Modi

Bulandshahr, May 30, 2025: The first 660 MW unit of THDC India Limited’s maiden 1320 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (STPP), located in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, was dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
This milestone, alongside other state projects, marks a significant step in THDC’s energy diversification strategy. With this commissioning, THDC’s total installed capacity has been elevated from 1587 MW to 2247 MW.

During the inauguration, the Hon’ble Prime Minister emphasized that the project is a pivotal move toward meeting Uttar Pradesh’s energy demands, with enhanced electricity availability expected to spur industrial growth. The foundation stone for this mega plant, laid by the Prime Minister in 2019, reflects THDC’s commitment to timely execution and engineering excellence.
The Khurja Super Thermal Power Plant has been established as a landmark in THDC’s transition from a primarily hydropower-focused entity to a diversified energy leader, encompassing thermal and renewable assets.
