In a momentous event that marked the convergence of government, industry, and environmental consciousness, Kaushal Bhawan, a cutting-edge office building in New Moti Bagh, New Delhi, was inaugurated on 24.01.2024.
The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, graced the occasion, officially opening the doors to this state-of-the-art facility. The ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries including Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Hon’ble MoS for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti; Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC; Shri Saleem Ahmad, Director (Projects), NBCC, along with other senior officials from the Government of India and NBCC.
Located at the heart of the nation’s capital, Kaushal Bhawan stands as a symbol of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s commitment to fostering initiatives across the nation. The building is not only a testament to modern architecture but also reflects a harmonious integration with nature. Shri Mahadevaswamy highlighted to the Hon’ble President that the design of Kaushal Bhawan has been crafted to accommodate and support existing trees, with an 80-year-old majestic banyan tree as the focal point, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the surroundings.
The seven-storied Kaushal Bhawan covers an expansive area of 1.354 acres, boasting a built-up area of over 23,000 sq. m. The auditorium, with a seating capacity of 240, serves as a hub for events and gatherings. The construction, valued at around Rs.150 Cr., showcases a commitment to sustainable practices, featuring a 30 KWp solar power system that reduces reliance on conventional power sources.
Environmental consciousness extends further with LED lights and automatic occupancy sensors throughout the premises, ensuring energy efficiency by turning off lights in unoccupied areas. The building also addresses employee well-being, offering facilities such as a gym, yoga space, and a crèche.
Kaushal Bhawan places a strong emphasis on water management, incorporating a rainwater harvesting plant with a capacity of 55 m3, promoting sustainable water practices within the building. Additionally, the advanced sewage treatment plant (STP) with a capacity of 90 KLD and a water treatment plant of similar capacity further underline the commitment to environmental stewardship.
The inauguration of Kaushal Bhawan signifies a landmark achievement in creating a modern, sustainable, and employee-friendly government office space. It stands as a collaborative effort, bringing together stakeholders from various sectors to contribute to the nation’s skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives.
