How Climate Co-Benefit Strategies Are Shaping Future Actions”

A workshop on “The Role of Climate Co-Benefit Methodologies for Strengthening Climate Action by Indian Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs)” was recently held by the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) in collaboration with GIZ. Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman of SCOPE and CMD of GAIL (India) Ltd, inaugurated the event. Also present were Ms. Taina Dyckhoff from the German Embassy, Shri Atul Sobti, Director General of SCOPE, and Shri Sujoy Choudhury, Chairman of the SCOPE Sustainability Committee and Director at IOCL.

The workshop aimed to delve into how climate co-benefit methodologies can enhance climate actions undertaken by Indian PSEs. A consortium of Oxford Policy Management, CEEW, and Perspectives Climate Group served as the event’s knowledge partners, contributing their expertise to the discussions.

Executives from 22 PSEs across India participated in the workshop, engaging in meaningful dialogue and exchanging ideas on implementing climate co-benefit strategies. Their involvement demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing climate initiatives within the public sector.

The insights gained from the workshop are anticipated to guide future climate action plans among Indian PSEs, highlighting the growing importance of integrating these methodologies into organizational strategies.
