GAIL Reports Revenue of Rs 33,692 Crore, PAT of Rs 2,724 Crore in Q1 FY-25

New Delhi, 30th July, 2024: GAIL (India) Limited has released its financial results for the first quarter of FY-25, showcasing a Revenue from Operations of Rs 33,692 crore, a noticeable rise from Rs 32,227 crore in the same quarter last year. The Profit Before Tax (PBT) saw an impressive increase to Rs 3,642 crore, compared to Rs 1,889 crore in Q1 FY-24. Likewise, the Profit After Tax (PAT) surged to Rs 2,724 crore from Rs 1,412 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

In a quarter-on-quarter comparison, GAIL’s Revenue from Operations climbed to Rs 33,692 crore in Q1 FY-25 from Rs 32,335 crore in Q4 FY-24. The PBT experienced a robust growth of 28%, reaching Rs 3,642 crore in Q1 FY-25, up from Rs 2,842 crore in the preceding quarter. The PAT increased by 25%, totaling Rs 2,724 crore in Q1 FY-25 against Rs 2,177 crore in Q4 FY-24. This growth can be attributed to higher Gas Transmission volumes, an uptick in domestic Natural Gas Marketing volume, and improved Natural Gas marketing margins.

On a consolidated basis, GAIL’s Revenue from Operations for Q1 FY-25 stood at Rs 34,822 crore, an increase from Rs 32,833 crore in Q4 FY-24. The PBT was recorded at Rs 4,114 crore, up from Rs 3,099 crore in the previous quarter. The PAT, excluding Non-controlling interest, reached Rs 3,183 crore in Q1 FY-25, compared to Rs 2,469 crore in Q4 FY-24.

Commenting on the results, Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of GAIL, stated, “The company’s strong performance in Q1 FY-25 reflects our commitment to operational excellence and strategic growth. We have achieved a significant milestone in our financial results, with substantial growth in both revenue and profitability.” He added, “We have also incurred a capital expenditure of about Rs 1,659 crore during this quarter, primarily on pipelines, petrochemicals, and equity to joint ventures, which constitutes approximately 21% of our annual target of Rs 8,044 crore. Furthermore, GAIL has advanced its Net Zero carbon target for scope-1 and scope-2 emissions to 2035 from the earlier target of 2040.”
