EESL Hosts consultation workshop on BEE’s Demonstration of Energy Efficiency Project (DEEP) in New Delhi
New Delhi,: Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), statutory body under Ministry of Power and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, organised a workshop on BEE’s Demonstration of Energy Efficiency project for Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) sector industries, in association with State Development Agencies (SDA) across India.
During the workshop, EESL explained the details of first set of approved innovative technologies and demonstrated live demo for submission of expression of interest. The event saw discussions around implementation of Demonstration of Energy Efficiency project, vision for the project in the coming years and challenges that lay ahead. Later on, the panel discussion witnessed deliberations around the innovative technologies like Micro-Turbine, Screw Compressor with PM Motor, Turbo Blower and Low-Grade Waste Heat Recovery.
During the DEEP consultation workshop held today in New Delhi, key dignitaries from BEE, EESL, SAIL, NTPC, FICCI and other Industry associations & experts shared insights about the importance of energy efficient technologies for PAT industries. Few of the eminent luminaries present at the event include – Dr. Ashok Kumar, DDG, BEE; Shri Arun Kumar Mishra, CEO, EESL; Shri. Sunil K Khandare, Director, BEE; Shri. Venkatesh Dwivedi GED (P&BD) EESL; Shri. Girja Shankar GM Tech. EESL; Sh. C. S. Srinivas, GM OS NTPC; Shri. Ajay Raj, AGM Tec, EESL; Sh. A. K. Asthana, Sector Expert; Sh. B. P. Thapliyal, Sector Expert; Sh. R. Rajmohan, CEO Veolia India among others.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Ashok Kumar, DDG, BEE stated, “As the industry sector is progressing towards higher energy efficiency levels primarily under the PAT scheme, to further enhance their efficiency, successful demonstration of energy efficiency projects will increase not only profitability and help them in achieving the PAT targets but will also contribute for a global cause to arrest the climate change. DEEP will further bolster PAT industries by creating an ecosystem, to help them meet the allocated Specific Energy Consumption (SEC) reduction targets as well as support market transformation for innovative technologies.”
Mr. Arun Kumar Mishra, CEO, EESL said, “Energy saving by efficient ESCOs & technologies will drive the energy efficiency market. BEE and EESL with their collaborative approach and expertise have designed this project to implement innovative technologies and deploy bespoke package of energy efficiency technologies in PAT industries. EESL is extending its support for BEE’s DEEP to reach designated consumers and expand the learnings of demo projects in market transformation of identified technologies and in anticipation of larger collaborations.”
Highlighting the key benefits and available support of DEEP project, Mr. Venkatesh Dwivedi, Group Executive Director, Projects and Business Development said, “Improving industrial energy efficiency is one of the most crucial yet challenging aspects of the work EESL has accomplished in the last decade.
