CMD NHPC Lauds Hydropower Achievements During Ministerial Visit to Ladakh

Shri R.K. Chaudhary, CMD of NHPC, praised the exemplary efforts of the NHPC team during the recent visit of Shri Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, to the 45 MW NHPC Nimoo Bazgo Power Station in Leh, Ladakh, on 22nd November 2024. The CMD highlighted the power station’s remarkable contributions not only in energy generation but also in driving community welfare through impactful CSR initiatives.

The Union Minister expressed his admiration for NHPC’s resilience in maintaining operations under challenging conditions, reaffirming the government’s commitment to renewable energy and sustainability. Shri Manohar Lal encouraged the team to scale up their green energy initiatives and support India’s mission of achieving energy security through innovative and clean technologies.

A cornerstone of Ladakh’s renewable energy landscape, the 45 MW Nimoo Bazgo Power Station, developed by NHPC, harnesses the mighty Indus River to provide clean and reliable energy to the region. This project underscores NHPC’s leadership in hydropower and its growing footprint in solar and wind energy, aligning with India’s green energy transition.

Accompanying the visit were Shri Ram Swaroop, Executive Director, NHPC Regional Office Jammu; Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Executive Director, O&M, NHPC; and Shri Jitendra Kumar, Head of Power Station for Nimoo Bazgo & Chutak Power Stations, alongside senior officers and employees. Together, they reaffirmed NHPC’s unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community development.
