Chandigarh, December 27 : In a significant political development, the meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and the High-Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) was chaired by Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal in Chandigarh on December 27.
Approval for contracts and purchases totalling Rs. 264 crores was granted, including the purchase of textbooks and workbooks for government schools. Savings of Rs. 5 crores were achieved through negotiations with bidders. Ministers, including Sh. Kanwar Pal and Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, were present, deliberating on 13 agendas spanning education, agriculture, irrigation, and urban development.
