भारत अब गैस आधारित अर्थव्यवस्था की ओर बढ़ रहा है। 2014 में 14 करोड़ लोगों को एलपीजी मिलती थी, जो अब बढ़कर 32 करोड़ से अधिक हो गई है और लगभग 100% आबादी को कवर करती है। #PMUjjwala योजना के तहत 10.32 करोड़ मुफ्त कनेक्शन दिए गए हैं, जिससे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में रहने वाली बहनों को सस्ती रसोई गैस मिल रही है।
2016 के बाद 11,000 से अधिक ग्रामीण डिस्ट्रीब्यूटरशिप खोली गई हैं, जिससे ग्रामीण इलाकों में रसोई धुआँ मुक्त और स्वच्छ हो गई हैं।
