Can HUDCO Lead the Way in Low-Carbon Urban Development Globally?

HUDCO successfully organized a two-week ITEC training program on “Low Carbon Urban Infrastructure Development and Financing,” which concluded on January 28, 2025. Chaired by Shri Sanjay Kulshreshta, CMD of HUDCO, the valedictory session highlighted the key outcomes of the program, which brought together 24 urban development professionals from 14 countries, including Ghana, Indonesia, Fiji, and Tanzania.

Sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, the program, conducted by HUDCO’s Human Settlement Management Institute (HSMI), focused on strategies for sustainable urban growth. Participants explored topics such as green buildings, public transport systems, water conservation, rainwater harvesting, and innovative financing mechanisms like Carbon and Green Bonds.

The program combined technical sessions with field visits, offering practical insights into low-carbon urban development. Distinguished experts from academia and the private and public sectors shared their knowledge. Participants also had the opportunity to experience India’s cultural heritage, fostering global collaboration and knowledge sharing.

As HUDCO continues to champion sustainable urban infrastructure, will its management play a larger role in driving international partnerships and pioneering innovative solutions for low-carbon urban development?
