Mumbai/Kozhikode, 11th December 2023: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Maharatna Energy Conglomerate and a Fortune Global 500 Company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIMK LIVE, the incubation centre of Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode), to support start-ups in the clean energy and deep tech sectors. The MoU was signed by Prof. Ashutosh Sarkar, Executive Director of IIMK LIVE, and Shri Sameet Pai, Head of Corporate Strategy, BPCL, on 11th December 2023 in Mumbai/Kozhikode.
The partnership is part of BPCL’s Start-Up Scheme “Project Ankur”, which aims to nurture entrepreneurship in the country by backing innovative ideas and concepts that have the potential to grow into start-ups. IIMK LIVE will act as one of the implementation partners of this initiative and will provide incubation, mentorship, and training to start-ups selected under this program. BPCL and IIMK LIVE share the vision of fostering innovation and customer centricity, and creating a sustainable future through clean energy and deep tech solutions. Through ‘Project Ankur,’ BPCL has already funded over 30 impactful start-ups, such as M/s Genrobotics, M/s Detect Technologies, M/s Anthill Creations, M/s Cygenica, and M/s EyeROV.
