Adani Energy Secures Mega Rs. 1,807.46 Crore Power Transmission Project in Game-Changing Handover by RECPDCL

Pune, May 31, 2025 – In a landmark move for India’s power infrastructure, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Maharatna CPSU REC Limited under the Ministry of Power, has officially transferred the high-stakes WRNES Talegaon Power Transmission Limited Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to Adani Energy Solutions Limited on May 30, 2025. This blockbuster project, valued at an estimated Rs. 1,807.46 crore, is set to redefine energy transmission capabilities in the region.
Adani Energy Solutions Limited clinched the role of Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through a fiercely competitive Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process, expertly orchestrated by RECPDCL as the Bid Process Coordinator. The project, awarded on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis, underscores Adani’s growing dominance in India’s energy sector. The ceremonial handover saw Shri T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, passing the SPV reins to Shri Sanjay Arvind Johri, Vice President (Business Development), Adani Energy Solutions Limited, with senior officials from RECPDCL, Adani Energy, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited in attendance.

Additional associated works will further bolster the project’s transformative impact. With a completion deadline set for January 1, 2028, this venture is poised to turbocharge India’s power grid reliability and efficiency.
This strategic handover marks a pivotal step in fortifying the nation’s energy backbone, with Adani Energy Solutions Limited at the helm of this electrifying Rs. 1,807.46 crore mission. Stay tuned as this project powers up India’s future!
