No Movement Can Be Crushed By Power-Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind strongly condemns Police barbarity with students of Jamia and Aligarh: Maulana Arshad Madani
New Delhi,Condemning Delhi Police’s brutality with the students of Jamia last night, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani said in a statement today that we are against any form of violence but what Delhi Police, under the name of maintaining law and order, did with the students who were inside the campus, is cruel and oppressive, and we strongly condemn it. He said that the protest is the democratic right of the citizens. But question is that why did violence occur during the protests and who is behind it? It should be investigated freely and fairly.
Maulana Madani said that the students of Jamia had been protesting peacefully for last several days against Citizenship Amendment Act, and the police were treating them ruthlessly. in spite of that, why didn’t the students take the law into their own hands at that time? Then there was no violence? This is a question that Delhi Police have no answer to.Some videos on social media about violence have gone viral, disclosing the fact that some other people were setting fire to the buses and the police were there, who are they? They are not students at all, it is very important to find out the reality of this. Like Jamia, the police have been cruel to the students of Aligarh Muslim University. We have also condemned this ruthless behavior of Police inside the campus. He raised the question,” Is it crime to protest in a democratic country? If it is so, then the people who are now in power should declare that even peaceful protest cannot be organized in the country anymore.
Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind stands with students community in this hour of trouble. Maulana Madani said that protesting against citizenship amendment act is not only going on in Jamia or Aligarh but Hindus, Sikh, Christians and others are protesting all over the country against this unconstitutional act.Maulana Madani said that this law is not a matter of Hindu and Muslim, but it is a trick to pave the path to make India Hindu Rashtra. He also said that it is our democratic right to protest, and any kind of violence should be avoided during the protest and it should be kept in mind that this should not cause any harm to the common people. The history of the world tells that any movement cannot be crushed by power.
