NTA fails again

New Delhi: NTA which is India’s premier testing agency, ultimately under the Ministry of Education, has failed aspirants once again. Imagine the plight of students/ aspirants who work tirelessly over years and are finally deprived of their due not by any lack of merit but by a faulty examination system. The current fiasco is but one more shameless episode in the long saga of blunders by NTA.
NewsIP had been highlighting the case of students being done in by the faulty examination systems in India. Leaked papers, out of syllabus questions, in inadequate time allocation all feature in these so-called top examination platforms. In the days of AI such transgressions are unpardonable. Where as India is a software supplier to the word in its own backyard the conditions are dismal. When time and time again examination process itself fails it’s time for a complete makeover and heads should roll at the top. Mere removal of the Head of Examination will not do.
There was a time when Educationists of Eminence from Abul Kalam Azad to KL Srimali and Humayan Kabir all held the seat of education minister of India. Those were times when it was recognised that for education some one who is well educated would do justice not a novice no matter how politically savvy he is. It’s one Ministry where good credentials and lineage are extremely important.
Today there is deafening silence in the Ministry of Education on all the imbroglios and ills of this vital ministry which is supposed to shape the destiny of youth and of the nation. Surprisingly, the otherwise loquacious persons are silent today, maybe realisation has dawned Education is a different ball game altogether.
