MOU for I.T. D.P. for Bari and Tranda Panchayats of Nichar Block Distt. Kinnaur (HP)

(Shimla)An MOU was signed in the august presence of Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), SJVN between SJVN Foundation, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Hill Agriculture & Rural Development Promotion Society (HARP) for conducting Integrated Tribal Development Program for Bari and Tranda Panchayats of Nichar Block in Distt. Kinnaur (HP).
This Integrated Tribal Development Program for Bari and Tranda Panchayats situated around 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station will have the financial implication of Rs. 537.71 Lakh for a period of six years. For this program, SJVN Foundation will extend financial support of Rs. 222.33 Lakh, NABARD will extend financial support of Rs. 165.72 Lakh and the remaining amount will be the contribution of the villagers in the form of Shramdaan/ Manpower. HARP will be the Project Implementing Agency for a period of six years.
The MOU has been executed with the objective to provide a sustainable horticulture-based livelihood to 255 resource-poor tribal farmers of Gram Panchayats Tranda and Bari. The program aims:

–       To build the technical & managerial capacity of the targeted farmers.
–       To provide assured irrigation to the orchards established under the project.
–       To create a sustainable employment opportunity during and after project for the rural poor.
–       To create awareness in the community especially women folks regarding health and sanitation.
SJVN has been implementing CSR activities in and around its area of operations and making significant contribution in the improvement of quality of life of stakeholders. SJVN undertakes CSR and Sustainability programs in six verticals namely, health & hygiene, education & skill development, sustainable development, infrastructure & community development, assistance during natural disasters, promotion of culture, heritage & sports.
On this occasion Sh. D.P. Kaushal, CGM (HR), Sh. Awadhesh Prasad, Sr. AGM (CSR), Sh. Dhiraj Gupta, Sr. Manager (HR), Sh. Harsh Jain, Dy. Manager (HR) from SJVN,     Dr. D.K. Kapila- CGM, Dr. Sudhanshu K.K. Mishra -GM, Dr. B.R. Premi – DGM and Sh. Vijay Singh- DDM Kinnaur, Ms. Sneh Pandey -Asstt. Manager, Sh. Amit Kumar Barnwal -Asst. Manager from NABARD and Dr. R.S. Ratan, Chairman of HARP were present.
